Machine
Description
Machines are technical and/or mechanical systems that are required in the production process. The machine costs, such as depreciation, interest costs, costs of accommodation, and maintenance have an influence on the calculation.
FACTON offers you an integrated machine cost rate calculation.
Further Information ► Machine Cost Rate Calculation
In FACTON, machines are divided into company-own and FACTON Content machines using the property »Data Origin«. As master data administrator, you can maintain company-own machines and the corresponding machine-dependent value rules.
You can define the following value rules for company-own machines:
- Purchase Value
- Installation Cost
- Residual Value
- Share of Insurance Cost on Purchase Value
- Share of Operating Supplies Cost on Purchase Value
- Allocation of Miscellaneous Cost 1
- Allocation of Miscellaneous Cost 2
- Allocation of Miscellaneous Cost 3
- Share of Fixed Maintenance Cost on Purchase Value
- Share of Variable Maintenance Cost on Purchase Value
Examples
- Injection molding machine
- Powder metal press
- Die casting machine
- Universal milling center

Toggle View Schema
- Click in the view schema combobox to the top right of a view.
- Click on the desired view schema.
All view schemes for the selected view are shown.
This switches the view schema.
Alternative: Click on one of the icons right next to the combobox to activate the respective view schema.
The »Overview« view schema summarizes all available view schemes for the selected calculation or calculation element in groups. This schema is only available via the combobox.
»Calculation« group
In this group, you can find all cost-related values for the machine cost rate calculation.
These values are grouped by topic:
- Investment
- Capacity, Utilization & Allocation Method
- Fixed Machine Cost
- Variable Machine Cost
»Cost Summary« group
In this group, you can find all machine-related costs.
»General Properties« group
The specific properties of the machine are listed below.
Is Specific Equipment
This checkbox lets you define whether the machine is process-specific or not.
Further Information ► »General Properties« group
»Technical Data« group
In this group, you can find all machine-related technical data, such as machine type, manufacturer, and consumption values of the machine. Depending on whether it is a local or global machine, you either enter the values directly or have them determined by the global machine.
Further Information ► »Technical Data« group
»Information« group
Is Expire
This checkbox lets you define whether the machine is expired (outdated) or not.
The activated »Is Expired« checkbox in the Details ► Information view schema (combobox) and a note (consistency rule violation at the machine) inform you that you have inserted an outdated machine in your calculation.
This machine will no longer be supported and updated by FACTON.

»Master Data« group
Some calculation elements additionally have the »Master Data« view schema. For the machine, this view schema comprises the properties of the following groups/view schemes at a glance:
- General
- Acquisition Cost
- Investment
- Capacity and Utilization
- Allocation Method
- Fixed Machine Cost
- Variable Machine Cost
- Total Costs

With the interface properties ProvideCapacityUtilizationByCMD
and ProvideEconomicCapacityUtilizationByCMD
you can define a machine rate base in the FACTON CMD in order to use both types of machine depreciation.
- To set
ProvideCapacityUtilizationByCMD
in the FACTON CMD - To set
ProvideEconomicCapacityUtilizationByCMD
in the FACTON CMD
Set the value TRUE for the »Formula« in the Details view of the interface property ProvideCapacityUtilizationByCMD
to set the machine depreciation type.
Set the value TRUE for the »Formula« in the Details view of the interface property ProvideEconomicCapacityUtilizationByCMD
to set the machine depreciation type.
Enter a standard percentage value (e. g. "76 %") for the formula in the Details view of the interface property MachinePercentagedEconomicOperatingTimeCapacityUtilization
.
You cannot set ProvideCapacityUtilizationByCMD
and ProvideEconomicCapacityUtilizationByCMD
as TRUE at the same time. A consistency rule violation is then displayed in the FACTON SC.
