Define Cost Model Header Properties

In the Properties view, you can define how the Details view of the cost model will look like in the CMD Test Client, i.e. what groups and properties will be displayed and whether the values of these properties are manually entered or calculated by formulas.

Note

The basic concept of the FACTON CMD is that everything that can be entered manually in the CMD Test Client can also be automated with the CMD. Basically, input values in the Test Client represent output properties with formulas in the CMD.

Let’s start by defining some properties of the table, such as table dimensions like table height, table width and table length. For structural purposes, we will insert a property group for the »TableModel« and »TableDimensions«.

The property group »TableModel« will contain all properties belonging to the table cost model.

Insert and define property groups

  1. Select »'TableModel' on Product« in »My Local Configuration«.

The Properties view opens on the right side.

  2. Click in the Properties view.
  3. In the ribbon, click on Property Group to insert a new property group.

Alternative: Right-click in the Properties view ► Property Group.

  4. Define the details of the property group in the Details view:
  5. Name Value
    Internal Name TableModel
    Label (en) Table Model
    Label (de) Tischmodell
    Highlighted
    Expanded
If required, you can define more localizations for »Label«, e.g. in French (fr), Japanese (ja) and Russian (ru) - as defined and provided by the base solution.
  6. Select the property group » TableModel«.
  7. Repeat step 3 for the property group »Dimensions«.
  8. Define the details of the property group in the Details view:
    NameValue
    Internal NameDimensions
    Label (en)Dimensions
    Highlighted
    Expanded

Define properties of the property group »Dimensions«

  1. Select the property group »Dimensions«.
  2. In the ribbon, click on Property to insert a new property.

Alternative: Right-click in the Properties view ► Property.

  3. Define the details of the property in the Details view:
  4. Name Value
    Internal name TableHeight
    Type Length
    Category Output Overwritable
    Formula "75 cm"

The »Formula« can be used to define an initial value that can be overwritten by the user later on. Since the property is of type »Length«, the unit can be m / cm / mm, etc.

  5. Repeat step 1 to step 3 for the following properties:
  6. Name Value Value Value
    Internal name TableWidth TableLength TableTopHeight
    Type Length Length Length
    Category Input Input Output Overwritable
    Formula     "5 cm"
Predefined Value "110 cm" "220 cm"

The »Predefined Value« can also be used to define an initial default value. The user can modify and insert a new value as needed without overwriting it. Once manually modified, the predefined value will not be reset.

Define Properties as Value Groups

Properties can also be defined as »Value Groups«. They basically are property groups that are displayed in the FACTON CMD Test Client as property group header with a value. This way, you can show the most important cost information at a glance without expanding the whole group.

In order to define value groups in the FACTON CMD, the property group needs to have a property with the same internal name and the following checkbox must be activated:
