Localize Properties and Signatures
In the FACTON CMD Test Client, you can define the localizations for all defined properties and signatures to provide the calculator with properly localized display names (in contrast to the internal names).
You can maintain display properties in each language provided by the base solution. Display properties in the FACTON CMD:
- DisplayName
- ShortDisplayName
- Tooltip
Alternative: Using the internal name of properties for localization
Further Information ► Use internal names of properties for localization
- Localize Cost Model Header and Properties
- Localize all created and defined properties of a cost model
- Localize Signatures
- Localize all cost model headers, resources, extensions, selection lists and reference data
Similar to how the properties of selection lists have to be synchronized in order to add data, the list of localized properties must be updated/synchronized when changes have been made (i.e. adding/removing properties or signatures).
To synchronize, select the corresponding node under »Localizations« in »My Local Configuration« and the click on DATA ► Synchronize Localizations in the ribbon group »Localizations«.
You can also jump from the one defined property (Properties view of the cost model header, resources, and extensions) to the respective place in the localizations list.
- Select the property you wish to localize in the Properties view.
- In the ribbon, click on DATA ►
Go to Localization.
Alternative: Right-click on the selected property ►
Go to Localization.
The Localizations (Properties) view opens and the selected property is marked.
The FACTON CMD automatically synchronize localizations.
- Enter the localization value.
You can filter the properties of each column, e.g. if you want to display and edit only the German localizations.
Filter properties per column
- In the Localizations (Properties) view, click on
in the column header of »Language«.
- Deactivate all the other checkboxes except that for language »en«.
The properties of the »Language« column are filtered by »en«. Now only the properties with English localizations are shown.
You can sort the properties alphabetically.
Sort all properties
- In the ribbon, click on VIEW ►
Ascending or
Descending to sort the properties alphabetically.
- In the Localizations (Properties) view, click on
in the column header.
Alternative:

The properties of the chosen column are sorted alphabetically.
For each supported language there is one localization file with the extension .resx.
You can use the internal names of properties as localizations in the FACTON CMD Test Client, if you have removed unused localizations after synchronization.
If you explicitly wish to have no localizations (empty localizations), you can use space as localization value (blank).
Use internal names of properties for localization
- Synchronize all properties/signatures for localization
- Enter the localization values.
- Remove unused localizations
After localizing all properties/signatures, you can delete localizations from the view list in order to use the internal names of the properties/signatures in the FACTON CMD Test Client.
- Select »Localizations« in »My Local Configuration«.
- Click on »Properties« or »Signatures« to open the view.
- In the ribbon, click on DATA ►
Remove Unused Localizations.
Alternative: Right-click in the view ►
Remove Unused Localizations.
All properties with unused localizations were removed. The list only shows those properties with explicitly defined localizations.
