Purchased Parts and Standard Parts

  • Purchased part

Unlike a manufacturing part, a purchased part is any part that is not produced internally, but is supplied by a specified contractor at a specified price instead. It is physically put into the product and is a reference part from a contractor.

  • Standard part

A standard part is a part whose construction, implementation and delivery requirements have been standardized. The properties of standard parts, with the exception of the prices, are therefore essentially independent of the individual contractor.

Purchased and standard parts, as well as processes can only be created, linked and edited in Data Administration.

Further Information see Parts

In addition, the user has the option to link the intelligent parts management system PARTsolutions to the FACTON master database. This database of parts contains many purchased and standard parts, as individual parts or as complete assemblies, and the data is constantly updated by the manufacturers.

Note

The PARTsolutions system is product of CADENAS GmbH, and it is purchased separately.

Note

When you add a part to a project, the prices from Data Administration are copied to the project and thus globally defined.

This means that Data Administration prices are used which are valid at the time the part is added. However, the Data Administration prices might have changed in the meantime.

Database synchronization ensures that the project prices match those in the Data Administration.
