Standard folders
The users alone is responsible for saving the correct objects in the appropriate folder structures.
All standard folders within the Workspace Explorer can have additional sub-folders added, if needed.
When copying folders, only the folder structure is copied. No projects are accepted.
Global Projects
In the "Global Projects" folder you can manage all projects to be available to all users. All users have access to this folder.
In the "Global Projects" folder, you can add only those projects that are used by more than one user (universally).
User Projects
FACTON creates a user folder for each user when they log in. Users can manage their projects in this folder. The folder is displayed with the name of the user who is currently logged in. No other users have access to this folder.
Use the user-specific folder to store projects that do not have a costing class yet and which seem unsuitable for editing by more than one user. This allows preliminary results with unapproved calculations to be hidden from other users.
Standard Parts
In the "Standard Parts" folder, you can manage any components that employ a calculation status intended for multiple uses. Parts are copied from a project and added to the folder using drag & drop.
For the standard parts, there is no distinction between assemblies and production parts. Standard parts are filed with all routing and costing information; however, routing information and costs are not visible in the standard parts folder.
Whenever a standard part is included in a calculation, all of the details of the included standard part appear in the calculation overview.
If a component with multiple calculation alternatives is filed as a standard part, an additional structure is shown below the standard parts symbol. The alternatives for the standard part are assigned in this structure in consecutive order.
Standard parts cannot be renamed or translated. Make sure that the name is correct and properly translated before copying a part to this folder.
The use of a standard part in a new calculation will automatically include all available alternatives of the standard part! Saved versioned project components cannot be copied into the Standard parts folder.
Standard Routing
The "Standard Routing" folder allows you to manage any items your company frequently requires that have a definite processing sequence and can then be completely inserted into the active routing for a production part or an assembly.
Standard routings are copied from an active project and added to the standard routing folder using drag & drop. Here, they are managed with all additional information (resources, time values, costs).
Further Information see Create and use a standard routing
Standard routings contain an additional substructure with information about the type and sequence of the manufacturing processes contained therein.
Any further breakdowns of individual processes, such as the assignment of resources to the processes, are not shown in the standard routings folder. They will not become active until a standard routing is pasted into a new project using "copy" and "paste".
Just like folders in the Workspace Explorer, standard routings can be renamed and translated.
Forecast
Save previously calculated assemblies and production parts that are intended for use as reference parts for the "Forecast" calculation mode to this folder.
Only assemblies and production parts that have either production costs or material costs at a minimum in "Standard" calculation mode can be saved to this folder.
Deleted Parts
The "Deleted Parts" folder shows all of the parts that were deleted. This also includes parts that were parts of the deleted projects. However, the parts themselves are not permanently deleted. They can be reused in a project via drag & drop or copy and paste. These parts are not permanently deleted until they have been deleted from this folder. This folder basically functions like the Windows Recycle Bin.
With the function "Empty deleted parts" in the context menu, all selected parts are permanently deleted from the database. The parts can also be deleted individually.
Possibly, some parts may be shown in this folder even if they are still used in other projects. In this case, it is still possible to delete these parts because then only the reference link is deleted - the part itself remains unaffected.
If an allocated project is deleted from an assembly or multi project, the recycle bin shows the top-level assembly for this project. Again, only the reference is deleted, not the actual project.
The recycle bin does not update itself automatically. Right-click on the folder > Refresh.
