Designing Cost Models in the FACTON CMD

The FACTON EPC Cost Model Designer (CMD) is compatible with the FACTON EPC Should Costing. Cost experts use the CMD to create company-specific cost models via a graphical user interface without the need for programming language.

Further Information

Thus, you only need to follow the interface description ' Developing Cost Models with FACTON EPC Should Costing and CMD.pdf' from the Release folder.

An overview on installation and functions of the FACTON CMD is available via the FACTON Online Help > Cost Model Designer.

The base solution 'Facton.Solutions.Standard.ShouldCosting.CostModels.Common' contains the predefined target resource and base solution properties. Therefore, it is possible to further define the following calculation elements as target resources for your cost model:

  • Assembly
  • Part
  • Process

Target resource of the cost model means that the designed cost model will be available in the Details > Calculation view schema (combobox) "Manufacturing Valuation" at the respective calculation element.

Under "My Local Configuration" you build the structure of your cost model. To do so, you can use all common FACTON SC calculation elements available, and define their calculation logic to embed more sub-elements.

The "Complete Structure" functionality generates the exact structure in the Structure view of the SC, following all defined conditions.

As target resource of one of the structure resources, you can choose the following:

Information on which structure resource can be embedded under or assigned to one another can be found in the interface description ' Developing Cost Models with FACTON EPC Should Costing and CMD.pdf'.

The following base solution properties are available at each structure resource:

UI Name Internal Name Type
Data Origin DataRecordOrigin TDataRecordOrigin
Key Key String
Name Label LocalizedText
Manual ID ManualID String
Relevant Quantity RelevantQuantity ResourceQuantityType/ParentResourceQuantityType

Table: Interface Properties - valid for every structure resource
