Selection Lists

Selection lists contain predefined values (such as classifications or locations) to be selected. Selection lists can be flatly or hierarchically structured. You can define the properties for the selection lists. All items in a selection list column belong to the same type.

The defined items can be selected in a combobox.

Two types of selection lists

In the FACTON CMD, you can choose between two types of selection lists to be created for your cost model.

Selection Lists

  • The data items of this selection list are defined by the Solution and cannot be modified in the FACTON Client.
  • The data elements can be updated by updating the configuration.

In the FACTON CMD, you define the properties and the data items of the selection list.

It is recommended to use selection lists in a cost model.

Data Selection Lists

  • Items of the data selection list can only be defined and administered in the FACTON Master Data workspace.
  • You can use the Excel Master Data Import for data selection lists.

In the FACTON CMD, you solely define selection list properties. The corresponding data are created and maintained in the FACTON Client.

Note

Any modification in the data selection lists in the FACTON Client needs to be published and synchronized with your calculation (via right-click on the calculation ► Update Selection List).
