Create Data Selection List
The packaging type should be selectable at the table model. This packaging type shall be maintained by a master data administrator in the FACTON client. In the following steps you create a data selection list and define its packaging type properties.
Create Data Selection List
- Select »Selection Lists« in »My Local Configuration«.
- Right-click on »Selection Lists« ►
Data Selection List.
- Define the details of the data selection list in the »Item Details« view below:
The Properties view opens on the right side.

Define properties for data selection list
- Click in the Properties view.
- In the ribbon, click on
Property to insert a new property.
Alternative: Right-click in the Properties view ►

- Define the details of the property in the Details view:

Localize Data Selection List
The localization of the data selection list is shown in the Master Data workspace ► Explorer of the FACTON Test Client.
- Select »Localizations« in »My Local Configuration«.
- Click on »Signatures« to open the Localizations (Signatures) view.
- Right-click in the view ►
Synchronize Localizations.
- Enter the localization value for »DisplayName« as follows:

In the following steps, you define a property for selecting the packaging type.
Define property for the packaging type selection
- Select »'TableModel' on Product« in »My Local Configuration«.
- Select the property group »
TableModel«.
- In the ribbon, click on
Property to insert a new property.
Alternative: Right-click in the Properties view ►
Property.
- Define the details of the property in the Details view:

Localize the property »PackagingTypeSelection« (e.g. as »Type of Packaging«)
While the cost model is running, you are still able to work in the FACTON CMD to directly compare your definitions with the actual behavior in the FACTON CMD Test Client, and possibly correct them in the FACTON CMD.
Run cost model
- In the ribbon ► START, click on
Run to save all changes and verify the cost model.
Alternative: F6
All changes are automatically saved when running. The FACTON client opens.
You can still make changes in FACTON CMD.
Open selection list »PackagingType«
- In the ribbon, click on START ►
Master Data.
- In the Explorer, click on Selections Lists ► Packaging Type.
The Master Data workspace opens.
The Selection List : Packaging Type opens in a new tab.
Create List Elements for »PackagingType«.
- Select the top-level node »PackagingType« in the tab.
- Right-click on this node ► START ►
New.
- Repeat Steps 1 and 2.
- Enter the following values for the list items in the Selection List view.

Publish Changes
- In the ribbon, click on FILE ► Publish All.
All existing changes are published.
It is not possible to undo changes after publishing.
If you already have created a calculation and wish to use the new / modified selection list items there, you need to update the selection list in this calculation.
Open previous calculation with cost model
- In the ribbon, click on
Calculations to open the calculations workspace.
- In the Explorer ► Calculations, click on »My Calculations« to open the query tab.
- Click on
Run.
- Right-click on the calculation ► Open in New Tab.
The calculation opens in a new tab.
Update Selection List
- In the Structure view, right-click on the calculation ► Update Selection Lists.
The new / modified selection list items can be selected in the »Type of Packaging« combobox.
