Check Consistency

FACTON is supplied with a consistency checker to help you maintain an overview of the quality and value of the data in use. This tool provides users with convenient options for verifying whether predefined conditions in Data Administration are adhered to while enabling administrators to manage and maintain master data.

The consistency checker finds missing values and assignments as well as invalid entries for every object in the area of Data Administration. This is especially helpful following the automated import of data from third-party sources, where a manual check would be far too time-consuming.

In its current version, the consistency checker looks for the following errors:

  • Incorrect validities
  • Missing or invalid values
  • Missing required assignments
  • Duplicate data records
  • Reference units (purchased parts with prices in different units)

Checking consistency

  1. In the ribbon, click on Start > Check > Consistency.

The "Check Consistency" dialog with found inconsistent calculation elements opens.

  2. Select a category in the Data Administration category combobox you want to check.
  3. Click Check. Any inconsistent master data items found for the selected category are displayed.
  4. Double-click on a found inconsistent master data element. FACTON jumps to the selected calculation element in Data Administration with the faulty entry.
  5. Click Check. FACTON checks for inconsistencies again.
  6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 to check for all other Data Administration categories.
