Sustainable Product Costing (SPC)
With the SPC function, you can calculate alternatives in terms of your CO2 emissions from energy use in order to evaluate a climate-neutral manufacturing alternative.
This function can only be used with the license component Sustainable Product Costing (SPC).
If you have any questions, please contact your FACTON consultant.

Emission Types
With the help of emission types, the CO2 emission caused during consumption or generation is taken into account in the calculation of site costs (consumption costs such as energy, footprint, gas and water costs) and, as a result, in the calculation of machine costs.
Emission types are created in the Data Administration as basis data. In the project and at machines, the valid emission tariff is determined via the selected location.
Further Information see "Administer Master Data" > "Basic Data" > Create emission type
Add Emission Types to a Location
Emission types can be used at locations to consider CO2 emissions in the investment and machine hour rate calculation of the project. Thus you can administer consumption tariffs for each location parameter with validities at the location and assign the created emission types.
In the project, the locations subject to emissions can be added via the Project Cockpit where the cost tariffs and emission types can be managed at the location parameters.
- Location Parameters
- "Administer Master Data" > "Origins" > Special tab
- "Project Cockpit" > Locations Category
Use Emission Types in the Machine Hour Rate Calculation
Based on the defined emission types, a CO2e emission factor can be used on standard machines and project-specific machines to determine the amount of greenhouse gases in the machine consumption calculation throughout manufacturing.
To visually track the CO2 emission values and their allocations in the project, you need the corresponding list style. Please contact your FACTON consultant for further information.
Further Information see Customize FACTON
The CO2e emission factor forms the sum of the accruing CO2e emission values of all location parameters. The value of the CO2e emission factor is managed at the machine and is later included in the machine consumption calculation at the manufacturing process.
You can have the CO2e emission factor calculated in the Data Administration at the machine properties (and later in the project at the project-specific machine) via the options "calculated" and "manual" to predefine it manually.
Determine CO2e Emission Factor at the Machine
The option "calculated" needs to be active for the machine cost rates so that the individual demands/consumptions can be entered.
The calculated CO2e emission factor is the sum of all CO2e consumptions of the machine.
-
The CO2e consumption of the machine is composed of the individual demand/consumption values of the location parameters at the machine and the CO2e emission factor from the locational emission type, i.e.:

Calculate the CO2e Emission Factor at the Manufacturing Process
The calculated or manually entered CO2e emission factor is multiplied in the project by the machine time at the manufacturing process (Advanced, Technology) and results in the CO2e value:
Following the sample calculation:
CO2e Emission Factor Machine |
Machine Time at Process |
CO2e |
---|---|---|
648 g/h |
180 s/piece (0.05 h/piece) |
32.4 g/h |
In the project structure, the resulting CO2 emission value CO2e is shown in the cost information at the manufacturing process. If the process contains several machines, all CO2e values are summed up.
