Create and update configuration project

Create Configuration Project

• You have created a reference project including all necessary project elements for the maximum structure
• You have created n empty projects for variants.

1. In the Workspace Explorer, click on New ► Configuration project. The New Project dialog opens.
2. Click on and select a language for the project name.
3. Change the name of the configuration project in the language shown.

4. Select the currency for the project.

5. Confirm your entries with OK. The project is created and opened.
6. Drag the reference project you created along with all projects for the variants from the Workspace Explorer into the top assembly in the configuration project.

Select reference project

• No reference project was selected for the configuration project yet.
• The configuration project contains at least 1 project.

1. Open the configuration project.
2. Open the Variants View.

   • The configuration project is open and active.

   • In the ribbon, click on Edit (Variants) ► Variants View ("View" group).

   The Reference Project dialog opens.

3. Select the reference project from the combobox.
   WARNING

   You can only select the reference project for a configuration project once.

4. Click OK.

Update Configuration Project

A red exclamation mark is shown in the project structure, indicating that the reference project has changed while the configuration project was open.

1. Click on the red exclamation mark in the project structure of the configuration project.
2. Confirm with Yes to apply the changes of the reference project to the configuration project.
