Reference Copy

A reference copy is an extension of a reference.

As it is the case with references, reference copies of a calculation element have equal status. None of the instances is considered as the original element. The original element is also treated as a reference copy.

Additional features:

  • References between reference copies can be deactivated temporarily without releasing the reference. The advantage here is that if changes are made to a reference copy, these are only applied to the other referenced calculation elements when required. Referenced projects are updated manually.
  • Additional costs for a calculation element with reference copies can either be updated via the reference or defined separately for a calculation element.

The following properties can be set individually for each calculation element without affecting any of the referenced calculation elements:

  • The quantity of the reference copy
  • The target costs of the reference copy

Project elements that are reference copies are flagged in the project structure tree:

Note

Reference copies are automatically deleted as soon as the project is saved as a copy.
