In addition to the standard parameters, you can manage further parameters for the semifinished parts.

Form type	Each semifinished part has a certain form type. FACTON indicates this with the semifinished part form type. You cannot change this property after a basic material has been assigned to the semifinished part. All basic materials assignments must be removed before you can do this.

Semifinished part form types

The semifinished part form types are used to predefine the dimensions and calculation formulas for semifinished parts. FACTON distinguishes between nominal size dimensions, fixed dimensions and variable dimensions.

You can enter values for nominal size dimensions and fixed dimensions in Data Administration; variable dimensions can only be entered when assigning a semifinished part to the project.

The nominal size dimensions are used to calculate the nominal size, which in turn is used to calculate the fixed dimensions, unless these were entered manually.

The fixed and variable dimensions are then used to calculate the value of the price reference.

Note

If the price reference is to the mass, then a density must also be entered for the basic material of the semifinished part. The density and the volume of the semi-finished part are used to determine the mass.
