Extended additional cost allocation
The extended additional cost allocation enables you to allocate all included additional costs of a multi project with selected "No allocation" option on projects.
- The project is a multi project.
- The user must at least have reading access for all the projects involved. If the user does not have this access right, the Allocation of Additional Costs dialog cannot be opened and the procedure is aborted. An error message is displayed.
- The additional costs can only be allocated for non-versioned projects, and for projects the user has writing access right for. If this is not the case, a warning message is displayed when the Allocation of Additional Costs dialog opens, allowing the user to cancel the procedure.
The additional costs for each project are determined on the basis of the company's own share of an additional costs for the entire life cycle of a project.
For each additional cost, the sum of the costs can be distributed across all the projects.
When allocating costs at the individual projects, for each additional cost element, a new additional cost element is assigned at the top-level assembly of each project, and its properties are set as follows:
- The costs are derived from the allocated costs.
- The cost allocation is set to "Total quantity", with the company's own share at 100%.
- The interest calculation is deactivated.
Once the allocation has been carried out, the individual projects are saved automatically.
If the allocated additional cost already exists at the top-level assembly of a project, and if their cost allocation is set to "Total quantity", the additional costs will be overwritten with the allocated costs. It is therefore recommended that no additional cost with an allocation set to "Total quantity" be allocated to the top-level assembly.
If additional costs are inserted into the project in different currencies, the additional costs will be allocated and displayed in their respective currencies.
Allocate additional costs
- In the ribbon, click on Extras ► Extended Additional Cost Allocation ("Tools" group). The Allocation of Additional Costs dialog opens.
- Change the costs for each project in the cells showing the additional costs.
- Confirm your entries with OK.
- If the total of the entered additional costs across all the projects is not equal to the total of the calculated additional costs across all projects, a prompt will be displayed asking whether the allocation should still be carried out. If you answer with "Yes", the costs are allocated.
