Master Data

Master data contains all of the important basic information that remains unchanged for a longer period such as the name, characteristic or activity along with information on price determination and timing. It is used to describe and uniquely identify calculation data and contains information that is required again and again in the same format. Master data can be accessed, verified, modified or added to the calculation any time by authorized persons. All elements are master data records. Individual elements are referred to as master data.

Consistent management of master data significantly reduces the amount of work involved. You create a global data inventory in the Master Data workspace, which is available to you in every calculation via Edit ► Insert and that you can update at any time for any calculation – via the Master Data Synchronization feature.

The Master Data includes:

  • Selection Lists
  • Global Properties
  • Global Templates
