Production Line

Description

A production line is a production system in which several processing stations (individual machines within a process) are connected by material flow systems according to the line principle. Since not all machines have the same cycle time, buffer systems are usually required. The duration of a production cycle for a production line results from the maximum cycle time of all processes involved.

In FACTON, the production line represents a grouping of several processes. The production lines are used to map the processing stations of flow and repetitive manufacturing in as much detail as required using processes.

Note

The quantity type of the production line must match the quantity type of the superordinate calculation element (insertion position).

Examples

  • A production line for the production of circuit boards, which consists of stencil printing, assembling, the soldering station and quality control.
  • You can find an application example of a production line in the Calculate Powder Compaction and Sintering.

Quantity Types

Production lines can be used / specified and calculated in the following quantity types:

  • Area
  • Length
  • Mass
  • Piece
  • Volume

"Calculation" group

The specific properties of the production line are listed below.

Time per Unit Output of the Fastest Process

Shows the time per unit output of the fastest process embedded in the production line.

Output of the Fastest Process

Shows the calculated output per time unit (e.g. hour) of the fastest process embedded in the production line.

Time per Unit Output of the Slowest Process

Shows the time per unit output of the slowest process embedded in the production line.

Output of the Slowest Process

Shows the calculated output per time unit (e.g. piece per hour) of the slowest process embedded in the production line.

Cycle Time of Production Line

Shows the cycle time of the production line. This value is determined by the longest cycle time of the individual, embedded processes.

Production Line Output per Cycle

Shows the output per cycle of the production line. This value shows how many units the production line can put out in one cycle.

Time per Unit Output of Production Line

Shows the time per unit of the production line. This value describes the average cycle of a production line, i.e. the required time for one unit in the calculation.

Output per Time of Production Line

Shows the output per time of the production line. This value shows how many units the production line can put out per time.
