Tool
Description
Tools are manufacturing equipments that have a direct shaping effect on the workpiece to be machined, either by hand or in the machine. Tools are an important manufacturing equipment. Tools have a shorter operation life and a lower value than machines. In FACTON, you can specify whether the tool is to last over the production period and according to which cost allocation procedure the tool costs are to be allocated.
The tool costs are reflected in the
- allocation maintenance cost of fixtures in the direct manufacturing cost and
- allocation of investment costs and imputed interest in manufacturing costs.
Further Information ► Costing Schema
In FACTON, you can create the tools as master data in the Master Data workspace and define the purchase value, incidental acquisition costs and the »tool classification« to which they belong. The classification is used for the search in queries.
Tools can be grouped in:
- hand tools for manual work,
- machine tools, and
- measuring tools.
Example
- Injection molding tool which has been manufactured exclusively for the production of a specific injection molding part (is specific equipment).
- The purchase value including incidental acquisition cost is EUR 100,100.00.
- It has a calculated and calculation-relevant operation life of 100,000 cycles.
Insertion Positions
Unit
Tools have the unit »piece«.
