Fixture
Description
Fixtures are technical equipments used to position, hold and clamp workpieces and to guide one or several tools, if necessary. Fixtures are directly related with the workpiece and the machining operation / process. In FACTON, you can specify whether the tool is to last over the production period, and according to which cost allocation procedure the tool costs are to be allocated.
The fixture costs are reflected in the
- allocation maintenance cost of fixtures in the direct manufacturing cost and
- allocation of investment costs and imputed interest in manufacturing costs.
Further Information ► Costing Scheme
Fixtures can be divided into universal and workpiece-dependent fixtures. You can create universal fixtures in FACTON as master data, and workpiece-dependent fixtures as local calculation elements within a should cost calculation.
In the Master Data workspace in FACTON, you can specify which purchase value and incidental acquisition cost are incurred for the fixtures, and which »Fixture Classification« they belong to. The classification is used for the search in queries.
Example
- Extraction fixture which removes the injection molded parts from an injection molding machine.
- The purchase value, including incidental acquisition cost, is 50,500.00 EUR.
- It has a calculated and calculation-relevant operation life of 100,000 cycles.

Fixture Classification
The classification of fixtures can be individually defined in selection lists of the Master Data workspace.
Further Information ► Manage Selection Lists
The classifications created for tools and fixtures are provided in the Calculations workspace at the respective calculation element under Details ► Technical Data.
The classification of tools and fixtures allows you to search efficiently, rather than searching by name. FACTON provides you with the ability to search by classification.
When creating or editing elements in selection lists, you can decide whether you want to edit the name in one or more languages for each project element.
