Hollow Profile

This form type lets you perform the material quantity calculation for hollow profiles, e.g. the remaining profile length at the start and at the end of the profile, so that it needn't be calculated and documented outside FACTON.

The following example shows the use of a material quantity calculation:

Step 2: Insert a Material (Mass)

By selecting the Hollow Profile and a corresponding geometric shape at the material, a more extended calculation logic becomes available.

The latter is shown in the following, because it illustrates the inputs required for calculation.

 

Insert a Local Material (Mass)

  1. Select the should cost calculation in the Structure view.
  2. Click on Edit ► Insert ► Insert New Local Material (Mass).

    A local material is added under the should cost calculation.

  3. In the Details ► Calculation view, select the Hollow Profile form type.

    For materials with form type Hollow Profile, the following geometric shapes are available:

Material Calculation in further Detail

The following checkboxes enable you to activate or deactivate further details of the material calculation.

 

The activated checkbox enables you to take length allowances of the material into account.

Length Allowance

View and enter the cutting width of the material.

Direct input is possible.

Length of Finished Material incl. Length Allowance

 

The activated checkbox enables you to take a detailed length calculation of the material into account.

Cutting Width

View and enter the cutting width of the material.

Direct input is possible.

Profile Remaining Length Start

View and enter the remaining length of the material's profile at the start.

Direct input is possible.

Profile Remaining Length End

View and enter the remaining length of the material's profile at the end.

Direct input is possible.
