Casted Material

This form type offers you the material quantity calculation for casted materials, so that this rather complex calculation needn't be calculated and documented outside FACTON.

The following example shows the use of a material quantity calculation:

Step 1: Create Should Cost Calculation

Further Information Create Should Cost Calculation

Step 2: Insert a Material (Mass)

By selecting the Casted Material form type, a more extended calculation logic becomes available.

Note

You can insert the material

The latter is shown in the following, because it illustrates the inputs required for calculation.

Insert a Local Material (Mass)

  1. Select the should cost calculation in the Structure view.
  2. Click on Edit ► Insert ► Insert New Local Material (Mass).

A local material is added under the should cost calculation.

  3. In the Details ► Calculation view, select the form type Casted Material.
  4. Define the following properties for the material in the Details view:
  5. Price per Unit 23.00 EUR / kg
Refund per Unit 15.00 EUR / kg
    Calculation
    Form type Casted Material
    Density 7.85 g / cm³

Net Weight of Casted Part 0.50 kg / pc
    Number of cavities 4.00

Weight of the Machined Part 0.35 kg / pc

    Gating and Feeders
Weight of Gating System and Feeders 1.40 kg
    Melting Loss 0.15 kg

Melting Loss
  • Melting Loss in % Based on Shot Weight
  • Melting Loss in % Based on Net Weight Casted Part
  • Melting Loss in % Based on Net Weight Machined Part
  • Weight of Recirculated Material of Gating System and Feeders
  • Share of Recirculated Material of Gating System and Feeders

The following property values are also calculated based on the input:

  • Melting Weight
  • Melting Volume
  • Melting Weight per Part
  • Relevant Net Quantity
  • Markup Rate on Net Quantity
  • Markup in Net Quantity
  • Gross Quantity
  • Share of Recycling Material
  • Recycling Quantity
