Production Line
Description
A production line is a production system in which several processing stations (individual machines within a process) are connected by material flow systems according to the line principle. Since not all machines have the same cycle time, buffer systems are usually required. The duration of a production cycle for a production line results from the maximum cycle time of all processes involved.
In FACTON, the production line represents a grouping of several processes. The production lines are used to map the processing stations of flow and repetitive manufacturing in as much detail as required using processes.
Examples
- A production line for the production of circuit boards, which consists of stencil printing, assembling, the soldering station and quality control.
- You can find an application example of a production line in the Cost Models - Powder Compaction and Sintering.
