Insert Local Calculation Element

Local calculation elements are those calculation elements that have no link to the master data. You create local calculation elements by creating them directly in the calculation or by copying and pasting them as copies of global templates.

In the ribbon, you can insert local calculation elements directly into the calculation structure or by copying and pasting (as a copy) global templates, depending on the insertion position using the Edit Tab.

Insert Local Calculation Element

  1. In the Structure view, select the calculation element under which you want to insert the local calculation element. (Insert position)
  2. In the Ribbon, click on Edit ► Insert ► Insert new local <calculation element, which you want to insert>.

    In the Edit tab, the possible calculation element that you can insert at the selected position are displayed as activated.

  3. In the Details view, enter values for the local calculation element.

    These values are only valid and visible in this calculation.

  • You are logged in as Calculator.
  • You are in the Calculations workspace.
  1. Run a query to find the global template on whose basis you want to copy and paste the local calculation element.Closed

    Run Query on Master Data

    1. In the Explorer ► Queries, click on button in front of SC Master Data.

      You can run queries for the following master data:

      • Commercial Measures
      • Fixtures
      • Machines
      • SC Materials
      • SC Special Direct Costs
      • Technical Measures
      • Tools
      • Work Steps
    2. Click on a master data whose global template you are looking for.

      A new »Query : <Master Data>« tab opens where you can set query parameters.

    3. Set any query parameters.
    4. Click the Run button to run the query.

      All elements found for the selected master data are displayed in the Result view.

  2. Select a global template that you wish to insert as a local calculation element from the result set.
  3. Click in the first empty field in front of the global template drag and drop it to the insertion position while holding down the CTRL key ( appears).

    The copy of the global template has been inserted as a local calculation element.

Alternative: to step 3

  1. Right-click on your selection ► Copy.

  2. In the Structure view, select the calculation element under which you would like to insert the calculation element from the master data. (Insert position)
  3. Right-click on Paste Special ► Paste As Copy.

    or CTRL + SHIFT + V

    The copy of the global template has been inserted as a local calculation element.

Tip

There is no link to the master data. All values and changes to this resource are only valid and visible locally in the calculation.

  1. In the Structure view, select the calculation element under which you wish to insert the local calculation element. (Insertion position)
  2. Right-click ► Insert New ► <Local Calculation Element which can be used>.
  3. Click on your selection.

    The local calculation element is inserted.
