Comparison Criteria
Before importing a data record, the import process checks whether a matching entry already exists in FACTON. If this is the case, the existing value is updated; if not, a new entry is created.
To verify the existence of an object, the import uses the key attributes for the object categories defined in the system. These attributes are mandatory attributes and are presented in the assignment window in the key fields group with a key symbol.
The customizing process makes it possible to define which fields are used as a comparison characteristic for which category. Key fields must exist for all master data categories. If there are no key fields for dynamic data the Excel import assumes that only one dynamic data row exists.
When the object categories are imported that enable you to import links to other categories, an additional section appears for each link in the assignments. This section can be used to assign the corresponding Excel columns to the comparison criteria. The comparison criteria for the linked objects are labeled with a key symbol. The links are optional; as soon as at least one link field is assigned, the import requires you to assign all of the comparison criteria before you can start the update.
You can only import links between administration objects if the reference object is already in Data Administration. If the searched object is not found, it is not possible to create a link and a warning message appears in the execution log.
To create a link between purchased parts and raw materials when importing purchased parts, the raw materials must already be present in Data Administration.
