The calculated machine hourly rate comprises several fixed and system-definable parameters. Fixed parameters are:

  • Year of acquisition
  • Acquisition/replacement costs
  • Unallocated acquisition/replacement costs
  • Depreciation time

The parameters that can be defined per system are known as location parameters. These include consumptions, such as water or energy consumption.

Location Parameters

Location parameters are machine-independent properties that are used to calculate the machine hour rate. These parameters are cost parameters of locations linked by multiplication. In order to calculate the machine cost rate the same way as in previous FACTON versions, the following attributes have been created by default:

For origins For machines
  • Energy Costs
  • Footprint Costs
  • Gas Costs
  • Water Costs
  • Energy demand
  • Footprint
  • Gas demand
  • Water consumption
  • Repair demand
  • Resource demand
  • Auxiliary means emand

It is also possible to determine how high the variable portion of the costs for each machine is. To this end, each location parameter has a different attribute this value can be saved in. Here, too, attributes already exist including:

  • Var. energy costs
  • Var. footprint costs
  • Var. gas costs
  • Var. water costs
  • Var. repair costs
  • Var. resource costs
  • Var. auxiliary means costs

You can create and edit these attributes in the "Settings" dialog.

Further Information see Attributes.

Customize FACTON

Setup costs are not calculated in the machine hour rate calculation in the standard version. Please contact your FACTON Customer Service representative if you wish to incorporate the setup time in your costing.

Allocation Types

The allocation types of a machine indicate how the hour rate is calculated to which the fixed costs (e.g. depreciation costs) are allocated. There are three ways of determining this.

  • Allocation to shift model capacity
  • Allocation to project actual utilization
  • Allocation to the project actual utilization (average)

In the "Settings" dialog, specify which of these allocation types should be used.
