Alternatives

Reasons for working with alternatives can include comparing the effects of different functional specifications of components or differences in product configurations.

FACTON allows alternatives of any assembly, any production, purchased or standard part to be created at any position within the project structure. A distinction is made between active and inactive alternatives:

• Active alternatives are visible in the project structure tree and affect the calculation.
• Inactive alternatives are not visible in the project structure tree and do not affect the calculation.

You can identify an existing alternative by the respective part symbol selected in the project structure.
