"Basic" calculation mode
The Basic mode is available for:
- Material
- Manufacturing Processes
The Basic mode is displayed in the calculation overview in rows colored in pink:

Figure: Calculation overview (excerpt)
Basic calculation mode for material
The Basic calculation mode on a material entails the calculation of material costs based on the mass and price of a basic material.
Automatic change of calculation mode
The calculation mode changes automatically from Standard to Basic
if you assign a material to the basic material.
The calculation mode of the material changes from Basic to Advanced
if you assign a semifinished part to the material.
Basic calculation mode for processes
When using the Basic calculation mode for processes, you can choose in the system settings whether you want to run the calculation in relation to resource or process.
The calculation with referencing to a resource are available for single manufacturing processes for which unit times, machine times and setup times are to be defined. These are calculated with the respective cost rate and result in manufacturing process costs (unit costs, machine costs, setup costs and production costs).
The Basic calculation with reference to a process calculates process times, manufacturing times and setup times. Hence, unit-related manufacturing costs and setup costs are calculated.
