Material Properties dialog

Use this dialog to display and edit the properties of a material in a project. The dialog consists of three tabs which are used to display and edit the basic material, the semifinished part and the geometric properties.

• "Preferences" checkbox:

  Activating this checkbox limits the display to the basic materials for which the "Preferences" checkbox is selected in Data Administration.

• Structure view of the basic material groups:

  Displays a structure view of the basic material groups. When a material group is selected, all the basic materials contained in the group will be displayed in the "Material" and "Characteristic" lists. If the ”All Entries” item is highlighted, all basic materials are shown.

• "Search" entry field:

  Enter a character string to search through the items in the "Material" list. The list will scroll to and highlight the first item in the list containing the entered character string.

• Next button:

  Click this button to search for the next item with this character string. When an item is found, it is highlighted.

• Entry field above the "Material" list:

  Enter the name of a basic material.

• "Material" list:

  The list displays the names of all basic materials of the selected group in the structure view of materials groups. Selecting the name of a basic material also highlights the corresponding characteristic in the "Characteristic" list.

• Entry field in the "Characteristic" list:

  Enter the characteristic of a basic material.

• "Characteristic" list:

  The list displays the characteristics of all basic materials of the selected group in the structure view of materials groups. Selecting the characteristic of a basic material also highlights the corresponding name in the "Material" list.

• "Description" text field:

  Displays the description for the selected basic material.
