Set reference quantities

Set Reference Quantities for All Variants

The Variants View allows you to set the reference quantities of the reference project simultaneously for all variants shown.

  • The configuration project is opened in the variants view.
  • All variants you wish to set reference quantities for are shown.

  • In the ribbon, click on Edit (Variants) ► Set Quantities ("Reference Quantities" group)

    The quantities for assemblies, manufacturing parts and purchased parts from the reference project are set for the variants shown.

Set Reference Quantity for a Structure Level

The project structure for the reference project allows you to set the reference quantities for a selected assembly and/or a manufacturing, purchased or standard part and all of the calculation elements below for all variants via the context menu.

  • The configuration project is opened in the variants view.
  • All variants you wish to set reference quantities for are shown.
  1. In the project structure of the reference project, right-click on an assembly or manufacturing, purchased or standard part ► Set Reference Quantities.

    2. Based on the reference project, the reference quantities for the selected assembly or manufacturing, purchased part or standard part, all calculation elements below are set for all variants.

Set Reference Quantity for a Single Variant

At the variant, you can either set the reference quantity for a single variant or for only a selected calculation element and calculation elements below of this variant via the context menu.

  • The configuration project is opened in the variants view.
  • All variants you wish to set reference quantities for are shown.
  • Right-click in the variant on an assembly or manufacturing, purchased or standard part that you want to set a reference quantity for ► Set Reference Quantities.

    • Based on the position in the variant, the reference quantities for the selected calculation element from the reference project, including all sub-elements, are set for this variant.

Manually Set Reference Quantities

In the Variants View, you can enter the quantities of the assemblies, manufacturing, purchased or standard parts in each single row.

  • The configuration project is opened in the variants view.
  • All variants you wish to set reference quantities for are visible.
  1. Click in a cell with a numerical value for a variant you wish to set.
  2. Change the desired quantity of the respective assemblies, manufacturing, purchased and standard parts along with any embedded projects.
