Attributes
Attributes allow you to add further information (e.g. manufacturer) and distinguishing characteristics (e.g. procurement type) to calculation elements and the project.
There are two different types of attributes:
- Standard attributes (administration and project)
- User-defined attributes (project)
You create standard attributes in the system settings - for administration or for the project. Standard attributes are automatically available as soon as you create a new calculation element or project. In Data Administration, all standard attributes in the respective project element appear in the "Attributes" tab. In the project, all standard attributes for the selected project element are shown in Attributes dialog. Selecting the top assembly shows the project attributes.
If you define a large number of standard attributes, you can specify attribute groups you can assign standard attributes to. This is how you identify attributes that belong together in a project. You can define the attribute groups in the system settings under attribute groups.
The values of standard attributes of a project element are entered Attributes dialog in the project.
You can create user-defined attributes in the project in the project structure. The user-defined attributes are valid for the calculation element in which they are created.
