Create cost centers

The following cost centers are required for the PC Mouse project:

Create folder

  1. In the data administration, right-click on Cost centers ► New ► Cost center group. A new folder is created.
  2. Enter "PC Mouse" in the Name entry field.
  3. Click Apply. The folder is renamed to "PC Mouse".

Create cost centers

  1. Right-click on the folder PC Mouse ► New ► Cost center. A new cost center is created.
  2. Select the General tab. Enter "Die-cutting" in the Name entry field.
  3. Switch to the Special tab.
  4. In the table Other Parameters, select the activity type "Employee" in the column Activity Type.
  5. In the columns Value of activity type, Variable portion, Currency, Valid from and Valid to, enter the values for "Employee" from the table.
  6. Select the activity type "Machine" in the second row of the column Activity type.
  7. In the columns Value of activity type, Variable portion, Currency, Valid from and Valid to, enter the values for "Machine" from the table.
  8. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to add the activity type "Setup" to the next row of the Other Parameters table.
  9. Click Apply to save your changes.
  10. The cost center die-cutting is created.

  11. Repeat steps 1 to 9 to create the second cost center "Forming".

The cost centers are now available in Data Administration and are ready to be used to calculate the project.

Assign a Process

  1. Open Cost centers ► PC Mouse ► Die-cutting.
  2. Select the Special tab.
  3. In the Assignments group, select the option Manufacturing processes.
  4. Right-click in the table of the group Assignments ► Add. The New Assignment dialog opens.
  5. Open PC Mouse ► Die-cutting.
  6. Select Die-cutting.
  7. Click OK.

    The manufacturing process "Die-cutting" is assigned to the cost center "Die-cutting", and appears in the table.

  8. Repeat steps 1 to 7 to assign the second cost center "Forming" to the manufacturing process "Forming".
  9. Click OK. The dialog closes.

    You have now created all of the necessary calculation elements in Data Administration and can start building your project.

Hint

A process can be assigned to a cost center, machine and employee. The assigned element can automatically be added when inserting the process to the project.
