Update and add bill of material

With the help of the Excel bill of material import, you can either update existing elements of the bill of material, or add elements of a bill of material at the end of an already existing bill of material.

Note

Currently, it is not possible to generate projects as part of the BoM import. These projects must be already present.

  • Click Import to start the import.

    The results of the import are listed in a log file.

  • Note

    FACTON informs you about missing mandatory assignments or configurations. In such cases, the program will not allow you to launch the import.

  1. Once you have successfully completed the import, the number of newly created and updated data records is displayed in a log file.
  2. When the import fails, due to irregularities or errors while running the import, the respective information are also recorded in the log file.

Note

The Excel import does not save the settings and assignments until you close the main window. The most recent settings are automatically loaded after restarting. You can save your configurations in the settings files at any time to reuse them during subsequent imports.
