Synchronize and update data

By default, cost data remains constant from the time of initial assignment throughout the life of a project to be calculated.

However, variants in cost-relevant data can occur during a project's lifetime. There are two ways of synchronizing data in FACTON: You can either display all variations or select individual categories - i.e. processes or parts - and only display the variations for this selection.

The database synchronization can be carried out for one or for several projects, including multi projects. During multi project synchronization, projects contained in the multi project are opened and synchronized.

The operation synchronizes the variants in the data between a project and Data Administration. Each variant is detected and the user is asked whether or not to update.

WARNING

The database synchronization operation cannot be undone.

Note

In the settings, you can define whether the database synchronization dialog appears automatically when opening the project or manually via the ribbon menu.

Database Synchronization 2.0

The database synchronization dialog has been completely revised. The synchronization of master data and dynamic data was combined so that assembly projects, multi projects and related costing types can be synchronized much easier. Due to the use of filters, synchronizing master data and prices has become more intuitive and flexible.

The revised database synchronization is activated by default. If you wish to switch back to the old view, you can do this as follows:

Use the old database synchronization:

  1. In the system settings, navigate to SystemMiscellaneous.
  2. Deactivate the checkbox Activate new database synchronization.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Restart the FACTON to apply the changes.
